1959 MG MGA Convertible

Restored to driver quality in late 1980’s

Color changed from Light Tan to Light Blue

This car runs and drives excellent. This car does mark its territory from time to time. The culprit is a weaping rear main seal.

The tires are modern Firestone radials and are in as new condition. The carburetor has been rebuilt and is adjusted so that this nice little driver starts up every time.

The chrome is bring on both ends of the car. The windscreen is in good condition with very few scratches or pits. It is also fitted with lexan wind wings and they too are in good condition.

The horn is good and loud. It has been fitted with fender mounted rear view mirrors and a chrome luggage rack on the boot. A gratuitous box of spare parts comes with the car, including a fitted cloth car and timing light.

The car is not rusty. The paint was put on many years ago and it is thick in places. This is a great example of a nice MGA that has had sympathetic mechanical maintenance to keep it in great driving condition, notwithstanding the less than stellar cosmetic

condition.

Asking $13,995

This is a complete, running, Automatic 1984 944. The information that I have on the car is that the timing belt was done in the recent past. In my professional experience, I believe that it has been done since the timing belt makes that distinctive whining noise - that we in the business call the belt “singing”. That typically means that it is tensioned and that it has been done in the not so distant past. DISCLAIMER - I do not have record of that belt being done. Only the word of the client that I purchase the car from. The car is not one without its issues.

They are:

Unknown / undocumented timing belt service

Reverse selector is fickle. sometimes it will engage reverse, sometimes it will not.

Passenger side paintwork that is of poor quality

Some hillbilly wired in a fuel pump kill switch - that must be turned to the “on” the position before the car will start.

This is a cheap car for someone who wants to drive a Porsche for downpayment money on a newer car.

It is a starting, running, and driving Porsche… for ashtray money….
